My Story
I am originally from New Jersey and have called Raleigh home since 2020. Long before I entered healthcare, I was exposed to many of the principles that now shape my practice. As an athlete raised by parents who believed in nutritious food, staying active, and looking beyond quick fixes, I developed an early appreciation for the connection between lifestyle and health. Seeing a loved one navigate a chronic health condition further fueled my interest in understanding why some people struggle with ongoing symptoms while others thrive.

I earned my Bachelor’s Degree from James Madison University before spending eight years as an ICU nurse and charge nurse in the Washington, D.C. area. Working in critical care gave me firsthand experience caring for patients with complex and life-threatening illnesses while also highlighting the growing impact of chronic disease on overall health and quality of life.

I later earned my Master’s Degree from George Mason University and became a Family Nurse Practitioner. Throughout my career, I have practiced in primary care, obesity medicine, and functional medicine. Over the past few years, I have worked extensively with patients facing complex chronic health conditions, helping them investigate underlying contributors to symptoms and develop individualized treatment plans that address nutrition, lifestyle, metabolic health, hormones, gastrointestinal function, and other root causes of disease.

My passion for nutrition and preventive medicine continues to drive my professional development. I regularly attend functional and integrative medicine conferences and advanced training programs to stay current on emerging research and clinical approaches. I enjoy combining evidence-based medicine with a comprehensive, personalized approach that recognizes the unique factors influencing each patient’s health.

What I enjoy most about functional medicine is having the opportunity to spend time listening to patients’ stories, understanding the full picture of their health, and helping them navigate complex symptoms that may not fit neatly into a conventional diagnosis. I believe that meaningful healing often requires looking beyond individual symptoms to better understand how the body’s systems work together.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, son, Golden Retriever/therapy dog, and extended family and friends. I love traveling, cooking, gardening, reading, and staying active. My experiences continue to reinforce my belief that good health is about more than the absence of disease—it’s about having the energy and vitality to fully participate in life.
